Our Mission Statement

As a body of believers, being moved by the Holy Spirit, redeemed by our Lord Jesus Christ, to the glory of God the Father, we desire to fulfill the Great Commission to, “...make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19-20) It is our desire to see the unbeliever won to Christ, the redeemed to grow in Christ. We will disciple and equip each Believer of the body of Mercy Baptist Church to lead a life that has been set before us, “... to fight the good fight, (and) finish the course,” (2Timothy 4:7-8)

Brief History

In December of 2010 a small group of people met: praying, seeking, and desiring to honor God.  Out of this meeting, and several more, in obedience to the call of Christ, Mercy Baptist Church was planted.  Meetings that started in a coffee house, then moved to an Allstate Insurance office, have grown to our current location. The building where Mercy Baptist Church meets was donated in February of 2012, an answer to our prayers as we were growing.  On March 25, 2012 Mercy Baptist Church officially became an organized body of Believers.  From the very beginning of our brief history we have sought to glorify and honor God in our existence.  God has affirmed and blessed Mercy Baptist Church as we have sought to have impact on our community for the Kingdom.

Mercy Baptist Church has had the unique opportunity to minister not only to our local community, but to the two local Christian universities, Indiana Wesleyan University and Taylor University.  It has been and continues to be, a great blessing to minister to such great young men in women, many who are away from home for the first time.  The “regulars” have embraced the energy and the desire to learn and to grow that the students bring to Mercy Baptist Church.  Each student is encouraged and challenged to use his or her gifts in our times of worship and growing together, preparing them to serve after graduation from college.
